SikaLatex is a modified styrene butadiene emulsion. Mortars containing SikaLatex demonstrate superior adhesion, good compressive strengths, and considerably improved flexural and tensile strengths. Additionally, SikaLatex mortars have greatly reduced water permeability, improved resistance to chemicals and abrasion, and are non-toxic and non-corrosive. They also possess excellent freeze-thaw resistance and resistance to long-term water immersion.

It also serves as a bonding agent for renderings (including the Sika-1 System), for wear-resistant floor toppings in water treatment plants, sewage systems, effluent plants, etc., and for bonding mortar between old and new concrete.
